I specialise in marketing translations for a variety of sectors including cosmetics, jewellery, watchmaking, perfumery, tourism, nutrition, leisure, lifestyle, food and beverages, among others.
Proofreading
Proofreading is a process whereby a text is scanned for grammar, syntax, spelling errors and typographical and layout errors, creating flawless and print-ready materials.
Bilingual proofreading consists of checking the translation against the original document, focussing not only on the correctness of the text but also on terminology consistency, adequacy and style. It may involve in-depth research. I also provide stylistic and content editing of Portuguese texts, ensuring that clarity, fluency, logic and consistency are achieved.
The extent of editing/rewriting required is always agreed upon with the client.
Teaching
I am a qualified teacher and trainer of Portuguese, English and Spanish as foreign languages, with experience working for the Portuguese Ministry of Education and Science as well as in private schools.
Additionally, I have served as a university assistant lecturer, specialising in Business English, Spanish Language & Culture and Translation Techniques.
With extensive experience in developing educational materials, I have designed customised courses tailored to meet diverse language learning needs.
